Dr. Jeff Hansen
Jeffrey N. Hansen MD
Dr. Hansen is a native of Bozeman, Montana. He completed his college undergraduate studies at Montana State University in Bozeman and then became part of the WAMI program and completed a medical degree at the University of Washington in Seattle. After an internship in general surgery at Maricopa County Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, he returned to Seattle to complete the University of Washington residency program in orthopedic surgery. After completing a Hand Surgery Fellowship in Gothenburg, Sweden, he settled in Billings, Montana to do general orthopedics and hand surgery.
After over thirty years in surgical practice, Dr. Hansen developed a new interest in health and well being. Recent years have involved advanced training in Age Management Medicine. Dr. Hansen believes that optimal health requires a three pronged approach. First, nutrition and supplements play a pivotal role. A whole food diet is key, focused on vegetables and avoiding refined sugar and flour. Low glycemic index is mandatory for avoiding fat deposition. Secondly, resistance training and high intensity interval training are necessary and, once medically cleared are possible at any age and health status. Proper maintenance and even replacement, when needed, of the body’s natural hormone system, is the third element. The real goal is to maintain health and vigor into one’s seventies, eighties, and beyond.
